Hi there,

Chil is no longer with the group but I'm sure the cub section would love to have the mascot back. Please let me know if it's not too late to arrange collection

Steve

We still have the cub mascot at our house. Chill will remember him I am sure. As we are moving away from Mitcham very soon we would like him to go back home. Can someone pick him up from us in the next couple of weeks?

It was good to combine with you. Thank you for looking after the team whilst i was forced to be a referee.

Hello,

Just wanted to say thanks for a fun time at 5-a-side today and combining teams with us. We all had a great time. We can win it next year!

gnaltsHHello. I left the sixth Mitcham Scout Group in 1967 when I went to college in Birmingham and trained to be a teacher. I taught in Balham and later Bedfordshire. I retired as a Headteacher. Some time ago I came back for a 25th Anniversary of a Yugoslavian canoe trip. I remember leaders such as Peter Lovell and Con Cox. I wandered by once with my camera and it was great to see that after all that time scouting continues to be successful.

Hi Paul, thank you so much for your message. It is nice to hear about your cub days. They still love crab foot ball, but Dodgeball is their favourite! We are having an open day on Saturday 26th January, so if you are in the area please join us. More details will be on the Calendar soon.

Hello 6/12th! I was a 6/12th cub scout 35 years ago! I am so surprised to see that you are still going - and mightily too by the look of it! Well done! I think I was just 12th Mitcham at first - and then it changed to 6/12th. Our Bahgeera (Leader) then was a man called Fred Wyatt - great local rugby player, big as an ox. Taught me to play chess. Made me feel like a bit of a star for a couple of years! I remember marching this girt big flag around on Church Parade days where it seemed the whole world had turned out to see us. Felt very proud. It also seemed like it was always hot and sunny on those days - and the streets smelled like cigar smoke, or Bahgeera. Great to see your Hall is the same hall. It has not changed a bit! We used to play crab-football alot after the more serious stuff. I live near Littlehampton now by the sea and work as a psychotherapist specialising in children. Your new website made me smile. Thank you. I salute you.
